Section 5.4 free body diagrams
The construction of the free body diagrams is obtained by modifying the scheme of the assigned static problem. In particular, the kinematic constraints are removed and the constraint reaction components associated with the removed constraints are introduced in their place. In this way a system, subjected only to static entities consisting of applied loads and constraint reactions, is obtained. The following video illustrates the procedure just described for some examples.
